What FaceBlur does

FaceBlur is a Chrome extension that lets you automatically blur specific faces while browsing the web. You upload a few clear photos of a person → the extension blurs any matching faces it finds in images on any website.

Data collection & storage

• All face detection and recognition happens 100% in your browser using face-api.js.
• Uploaded reference photos and their face descriptors are saved only in chrome.storage.local (encrypted by Chrome on your device).
• No images, fingerprints, or browsing data are sent to any server.
• We do not have servers. There is nothing to send data to.

Permissions explained

• storage → save your reference photos and settings between sessions
• activeTab & content scripts on all sites → scan images on pages you visit and apply blur when needed

Third-party

The extension loads open-source machine-learning models from the public jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net). These are static model files (not code) and contain no tracking.

Your rights

Uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage removes all reference photos and data instantly.
